K2 Houses, 2022
Located next to a beautiful grove in the developing residential zone of İncek in Ankara, K2 Houses are the second phase of Motto Architecture - Palto Construction collaboration. The project focuses on providing high living standards in easily sustainable footprints, and features a versatile and flexible space organization to adapt alternative living scenarios.
Living spaces located on the ground floor merge with the surrounding garden on three facades. These spaces feature spaces of different light and volume characteristics and indoor-outdoor relations, which let the users to configure a single living space or individual spaces according to their preferences. The upper floor houses private spaces and bedrooms, while the basement floor contains building services and activity spaces.
Terra cotta bricks and glass stand out as the main materials of living spaces and help the structure attain a natural harmony with the surrounding green texture. The secondary mass that contains wet spaces and service functions provides a calm gray background to emphasize the brick surfaces.
